Shalya Rajathurai

Shalya has a Bachelor of Laws from the University of London and is a member of both the Malaysian Bar and the Singapore Bar, having worked as a litigation attorney in Malaysia and Singapore for more than 16 years and as an assistant general counsel in a multinational company in Singapore. Shalya enjoys working with clients at the St. Paul Healing Center, currently teaching Gentle Yoga once a month in Survivors Connect, a weekly drop-in peer support group for conflict, trauma or torture survivors living in the Twin Cities. Shalya contributes substantially her experience and skills to CVT’s Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) efforts by her previous work in CVT’s first Action Learning Project Team on Hiring, currently in CVT’s Global DEI Council, the St Paul Healing Center’s DEI Working Group, and the Internship Development Working Group. Shalya is also a trained classical South Indian music vocalist.
