Peter Obonyo Omwony is an associate psychotherapist/trainer working with CVT’s program in Uganda in the Northern District. His focus is on providing mental health rehabilitation to torture survivors and capacity building internally and to external partners. His experience includes working with international non-governmental organizations, national organizations in Uganda and South Sudan, and working with survivors of female genital mutilation in the Uganda-Kenya border district of Amudat. He has experience in refugee operations, working for over four years with South Sudanese refugees, and one year of capacity building support program with a partner organization in Southwestern Uganda refugee programs.

Peter holds a Diploma in Social Work Social Administration and a Bachelor’s degree in Public Administration. He is currently concluding his Msc. in Clinical and Psychological Counseling, at the University of Kisubi in Uganda.
