Yumna Rizvi, senior policy analyst, participated in a Congressional briefing on Capitol Hill to inform members about Pakistani government crackdown on rights of protesters who support PTI, the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf political party. In November, a peaceful protest in Islamabad was met with deadly violence by police. Yumna was in Islamabad at the time and commented on what she observed. Dawn Media shared her comments on how the actions of the government are now motivating more people to voice criticism, saying, “The government is losing support because of the widespread repression.”
