Town Hall Forum: Ten Year Anniversary of the Torture Memos

The public is invited to hear a discussion lead by Rep. Keith Ellison (MN) and prominent Minnesota human rights leaders Barbara Frey, Director of the Human Rights Program at the University of Minnesota, and Douglas A. Johnson, former executive director of the Center for Victims of Torture, on the anniversary of the "torture memos." The torture memos were written by former Justice Department officials John Yoo and Jay Bybee to provide legal justification for the use of torture and cruel, inhuman and degrading treatment. The forum is cosponsored by Amnesty International, Women Against Military Madness and the Center for Victims of Torture. It is free and open to the public.
